Marilyn Monroe......
Lens: 18-55mm Camera: K-5 Photo Location: Palm Springs CA
Posted By: Bob Harris, 01-17-2013, 10:44 PM

......Basking in the sun This is a 26-foot rendering of Marilyn Monroe straddling a subway grate, a tribute to her famous scene in 1955's "The Seven Year Itch", located in the city of Palm Springs. We visited the statue last week, but the light wasn't quite right for the photo I wanted, so went back and took a series of photos of the sunlight striking her as I wanted a couple of days ago.
Rumor has it that there's been an eerie spike in doctors treating elderly men neck injuries the last couple of months.
Thanks to PF member "Den" for notifying me Marilyn was in town.

hey bud, that would go well with that big screen drive-in thread you posted outside your home with the Boxster in the foreground. I'm sure she would allow it and it is for sale, 1.5 million.

is it just me. or is the focus a little off? looks kind of fuzzy to me.
i do like how you capture the angle of the lighting though. nice shadowing on her right side and coming towards you.

I'm with you, it does look soft and I sharpened it and it really didn't have an effect on the photo. I wondered if the texture has something to do with it or maybe the focus is just off. Thanks for commenting. Bob

This just sounds like a feeble excuse to have to go back and do it all again.
