Studies of green stuff
Posted By: thomasjmpark, 02-21-2008, 08:36 AM

Hi,

Bad weather again today so didnt go far from the house. Cycled up an old railway track that used to run from Keswick to Penrith. I noticed that all the bridges iron work is rusting away and has this green mossy type stuff on it, makes for an interesting photo. There are a few tunnels aswell that have the same green stuff on them...

This last is a raging trickle...

They make a good series but the tunnel is great. Do i detect a subtle HDR? Nice having the interior exposed as well. Love the look and colour. The last shot is very nice as well. Good stuff!

Really like the slightly surreal and gritty look of the tunnel shot! The others are good too, very cool processing on these that help make them very interesting

Thanks guys, much appreciated

Peter they are all HDR. It works particularily well for the tunnel. The tunnel shot was difficult to expose because of the darkness followed by the bright opening, HDR did the trick Im trying not to use HDR so much but it definately helps in certain conditions.

Ditto to all the previous remarks Thomas.

The only original thing I can come up with is that we always thought Martians (green men) came from Mars....may have to re-think that now! with all this green stuff.

Nice funky green stuff! Very, very nice shots - especially the tunnel.

I know it has been suggested by others on this forum that you print, frame and sell some of your better shots and I will echo their sentiment. These are worthy, my friend!

Thanks again Blue We have a market in Keswick in the middle of town, I could sneak a stall in at the end I have to say I would be delighted if I could make any money out of my photos, never really considered it seriously. Theres an online course I want to do to learn more about the tenchnical side of photography as I feel alot of my pictures are done by guessing and luck!
