A Few for Bob and Me - A Couple of Old Survivors
Camera: LX5 Photo Location: Reliant Center, Houston, TX

Although Bob Harris is a Vette aficionado and I a Porschephile, we both appreciate great sportscars and we've both lived a few years. Here are three pics of a '54 Corvette parked beside a '65 Porsche 356 - two marques that have undergone near death experiences of various kinds more than once. It's a credit to both Porsche and GM that such cars are still with us, still evolving and (happily) still available. I suspect these early examples of the breeds are worth a fair chunk of change.

Beautiful examples Jer, first vettes made were in 53, my friends dad had a 54 and kept it for 10 years and I always thought his dad was way cool. Porsche has really stuck to the wonderful style of yesteryear, beautiful autos for sure.
Take a look here, you might enjoy the view. https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/post-your-photos/212817-machinery-porsche-spyder.html

Yeah, buddy, I really enjoyed seeing and photographing these two impeccable examples (we couldn't get close enough to get detail shots). Thanks for the link - I'm afraid I would have I missed that post if you hadn't pointed it out.

Thanks, Capn - I was only 8 year old (unimaginable ) when the Vette was built and a freshman in college when the Porsche came off the line.

You bet; the 356 was amazing - these things are rare as hen's teeth around here.

sharp looking cars. all the cars here lack that shine. (due to snow, slush, and generally dirty roads)

Thanks much. Yes, that car is indeed an Isetta - a BMW Isetta 600. I glanced at the web and learned that Isettas were built by a number of manufactures after WW II, including BMW - this is a four-door one. The second is one of my little '12 Bimmer - what a difference a few decades make.

Thanks for looking, Scott. We're having a remarkably warm winter (even for us) with highs in the mid to high 70s.
