As has happened in the past, after I waxed my car today I had the itch to grab my K10D. I shot some late afternoon pictures to record reflections. I never seem to capture in my camera what I see with my eyes (maybe 'cause the camera didn't have a few Bud Lites as the afternoon lingered), but here are some attempts at "abstracts":

OT: I've never been a big fan of Meguiar's products, but I gotta say their new Tech Wax 2.0 is pretty impressive (as I learned today); we'll see how it holds up.

Yep ! Number 2 is my fav, too .

Too bad . Number 3 would be the best if not for that lower right hand "distraction" , IMHO .

Thanks, guys. I keep experimenting with this kind of thing. Sometimes it works and other times . . . . . well. Anyway, I also think #2 is best of the four, but I want to figure out how to get the topography of sheet metal that I see with my eyes captured on the sensor.

Ditto on #2. Great shot. Just wondered if you used/tried a polarizer filter on this shot? Ken.

Thanks, Ken and - no I didn't use a polarizer, just the usual UV filter on the lens (in this case a DA 18-250). If I recall, I intentionally underexposed this one.

Okay - just wondered. I'm looking at adding a CP and Grad filter to my kit mainly for landscapes and shots from/of my canoe on the lake but would be very interested in seeing something like your first one taken with a CP. Thanks again for the shots. Ken.

Thanks much. Wax, by the way, is stuff that car guys put on their cars to take off the wax they put on their cars before to take off the wax they put on their cars before the last before . . . . .

Wow, my friend, I'd long forgotten this post - and since I'm unfortunately not able to be on the forum daily, it's remarkable I caught your reply. I guess you know what waxing a car means.

Cool shots. It's fun seeing different views of a vehicle that you dn't normally focus on.

You guys should try Zaino for your car detailing needs. Great product.

Thanks, I keep experimenting with these kinds of automotive shots - particularly after detailing and waxing.

I know a lot of folks swear by Zaino products, but I've never tried them myself. Maybe I'll give 'em a try.

people wonder why you took such a shot, but still like it!
Although I would like a better subject than my 93 Clio!
