DA* 200 2.8 informal test
Posted By: codiac2600, 02-23-2008, 06:45 PM

Yeah I got to play with the new one and took some snapshots outside work today Enjoy!

At 2.8

100% crop of bird

At f5.6

100% crop of bird

At f5.6

100% crop of bird

At f5.6

100% crop of bird

At f10

100% crop of bird

All of these are completely unprocessed just converted from RAW to jpeg and sharpness removed from ACR so this is totally unenhanced.

Very impressive. Love the details and colour. Great bokeh as well. Always more keen to see real life photos instead of testing pics.

It looks like a very nice lens to me, I'm anxious to see the 300mm when it comes out

Nothing wrong with those shots. The crop on the last shot could stand on its own, impressive. I'd be severely tempted if I wasn't so happy with the economical 180mm Lanthar.

(Pssst..... it's a bird! )

Just playin'!

It does take very sharp pictures but I too would like to know what is causing the right side of the pictures to appear black in two of the shots.

Thats the upper level of the shopping complex casting a shadow

The tree and wall are partially covered in shade so it's only a shadow nothing wrong with the lens.

Curse you Chris! I used to have my LBA under control. I am now suffering from a severe case of lens lust.
Nice shots.
