amazing architecture and engineering, 2000 years old, a city founded by Hercules and still standing. Great photos, thanks for taking us along Stefan.

Thank you very much, Bob. What I found most impressive was the fact that the Romans didn't use anything like mortar or cement to put those stones together. It's stone on stone, kept together by the force of gravity.

I read where it was mortarless, and still standing. Just amazing to me.

I've lived in Madrid for over seven years now and been to Segovia hundreds of times (my wife's family are from, and still ive, there) and I've yet to take any pictures of the aqueduct that I'm really happy with. I really must try harder. I do now with Segovia what I previously did with Edinburgh - living there has lead me to take it for granted, which means taking not too many photographs.

Yes, it is built without mortar. When I first came to Spain cars were allowed to drive through the gaps and on down the street that is now pedestrianised. Now only ambulances are allowed through to avoid having to make a large detour in emergencies.

Beautiful shots of an amazing structure, Stephan. I've walked across the one in Tarragona - really something.

Love the aqueducts.

2000 years eh? Pretty good return for your tax dollar.
