Posted By: simonkit, 02-24-2008, 03:23 PM

Had a wander along my favourite beach tonight & managed a few sunset shots, here's one of several

All feedback appreciated

Simon

Sheer beauty.
Going off the first version you posted, can I ask did you have to do much post photo work on it because the clouds just seem to sit perfectly, offsetting the far mountains and then clearing out near the lighthouse so as not to compete with it.
I especially like the hint of the wave creeping up the little cove on the left hand side, knowing its only halfway to the shoreline....

To be honest I'm certainly not an expert at PP & don't really enjoy it too much. I try & catch locations in the best lighting possible - I've visited this one several times before without great success!!

This shot has had a little "Local contrast Enhancement" & some slight "dodging/burning" to reveal a little more detail in the sky

thanks

simon

The lack of any serious postphoto work makes the quality of the original shot even more outstanding.

Very nice. Some years ago I had the pleasure of driving around/across Wales; one of the most beautiful places in the world. One of the things that sticks in my mind was the challenge of reading the road signs. I also remember staying in a wonderful hotel near Gwynedd, called Maes-y-Neuadd (?). For some reason that I can't explain, that name has stayed with me.
Now I have to go back and look through my negatives from that trip.
Thanks for posting.
