Under Full Power

Hot air ballooning is popular in the Coachella Valley, I converted this handheld shot to b/w because it seemed to go with the overcast sky.

thank you Mike, it seems I lost a little bit of clarity on the balloon converting it to B/W, it usually works the other way. Bob

Up Up and Away - Hot air Balloons - YouTube
Dave, at our campground here in Indio about 6 years ago, the gas system failed on a balloon and it landed right in front of our motorhome in the campground. No one injured, it landed quite graciously and two of the ladies exited the gondola carrying a glass of champagne. A chase van quickly came in and packed the balloon and passengers up. What a ride for those folks

Nice artistic effect.

The last one I got up early for and went to in Temecula was fogged in and canceled.

Kyle, the balloons we see are from Fantasy Springs Casino and I think are about $180 for the ride. Here is a link

I dig it, buddy - I like the B&W approach to this ballon shot, which focuses the eye on shape and contrast rather than splashy colors. Good call.

Be damned if I know why but I like it.
Leave it just as it is.
