Long-eared Owl, a dream wish
Posted By: ToXiQ, 02-25-2008, 12:22 PM

Hello All,

It was some time ago I posted something but here I am

Last weekend I found a Long-eared Owl rest place. In one tree where sitting arround 15 of these great birds. It is difficult to get them completely free but this is what I got and I am very pleased with it. Today I had lots of sun and a blue sky.

Those photos are incredible!!! The first thing that jumped out at me was the rich coloring. I especially like the look the owl is giving in the 3rd photo -- it's quintessential "owl".

Have to agree Sweet Bay!
The eyes are impressive in the last two. Really nice lens you have, what did you use?

Great shots, Walter. Just curious, but in picture #3, there is an area just below the beak (sort of the "neck" area) that looks a bit unfocused whereas the rest of the picture seems very clear. Any idea why that happens? Not a critique at all, i am a newbie and just curious.
