Thanks for the reply. I just got a Sigma 150-500 OS model and hope I can get results close to yours. I planned on getting the DA*300 but the price increase made it less attractive. WOuldn't it be great if Sigma offered the 300-800 in a Pentax mount?

It would, but I'm sure it would be WAY beyond my means. And, too, 500mm on the long end is about all I need. I'm very happy with the 170-500mm. Coupled with the K-30, it gets the job done extremely well IMO.

Thanks so much! From around 18-20 feet with a Sigma 170-500mm APO.
