Brooklyn Bridge - My first posted photo
Lens: Pentax DA 18-135mm Camera: Pentax K-5 Photo Location: Brooklyn, New York ISO: 200 Shutter Speed: 1/90s Aperture: F11

First time posting a photo on the forum...really just wanted to try the interface (which seems real easy).

I have no illusions about my ability as a photographer...strictly amateur...just another holiday photo I guess.

My first Pentax, the K-5, was purchased about a year ago. Before that I was using an Olympus DSLR and paid no attention to anything other than the auto setting. With the purchase of the K-5 (which I did a heap or research on before buying) I'm trying to learn more, think more and am enjoying the process.
I have really enjoyed reading this forum and it is amazing how many talented and helpful people there are on here.

That's all.

Damn! My first posted photo and I got the title wrong!

The photo is NOT the Brooklyn Bridge...It's the MANHATTAN BRIDGE. We had just walked across the Brooklyn Bridge from Manhattan to Brooklyn and were walking through Brooklyn Bridge Park, which is where I took the photo of the Manhattan Bridge from.
Well, like I said above...strictly amateur

Whether you got the name wrong or not it's still a great shot! No how's that for poetry!

Welcome to PF Dean, we got so lost in NY, I don't know what bridge or where the heck we were most of the time. Looks like you are on the right path to some great photography. Don't you just love the Pentax color and clarity you get with your equipment, keep posting. Bob

Thanks one and all for the positive comments, appreciated...I'll have to post more photos now, seeing as every is so polite!

Eaglem, another Perth-ite, hey? Guessing from your river shots you are close to the city? I'll keep an eye out for Pentaxs in South Perth

Bob, I know just what you mean about NYC, it took me a few days to get my bearings too...but at least it is a great city to get lost in!
For the bridges a friend told me the easy way to remember was BMW, Brooklyn Bridge, then Manhattan Bridge, then Williamsburg Bridge...and I still stuffed it up.

Cheers all.

Thanks again.
Corto-PA, I totally agree on the DOF, shot at f11, but could have pushed that out some more for sure.
