First Anniversary (Part 6)
Posted By: bluespearbone, 02-27-2008, 08:12 PM

My disappointment with the Burano shots is perhaps echoed in their inability to prompt any feedback (will have to do better), though if anyone can offer some advice on salvage or what to address next time, there is a link below.

Murano was the other Venetian island visited that morning, where it is hoped a group of better shots was gathered. Here are three.
For those unaware (as I was), this is the island where Venetian Glass is produced - not Venice, as the manufacturers were moved to this island, due to the risk of fire, in the 13th century. To be honest, with so much ornate glassware present, it actually became a turn off (but then, am no critic) so didn't take any shots of the merchandise. That should't reflect badly on island though, as that has a long history and picturesque character.
There is a 'glass shot' here, will leave you to guess what it is (not merchandise)...

I like the glass shot! If it is not a commercial product I have no idea of what their use could be. They look like they could be small flower vases - like a bud vase or something.

John, that first one of the lighthouse is sharp, with good exposure and I like the colours/contrast. 2 is colourful and a good angle. As J.Scott says what are they used for? Beautiful shot in 3, nice composition. Some of the houses in the distance don't seem so sharp. But with those settings that's not down to you. I am finding in some situations the kit lens just doesn't seem to deliver the sharpness I'd like even at 18mm though overall it is a very capable lens and can deliver good quality images.

Very nice shots John I particularly like no3. I really have to try and get to Venice, although Florence is higher on my list.

The glass shot is very cool and I haven't a clue what they are for unless they might be parts for something like wind chimes???

The ligthhouse is very good but does have a slight lean to the left but maybe straight wouldn't look that great?

The finall shot is very good. Great colour and detail. Nice series.

Thanks to everyone for their feedback.
Did make the glass shot ridiculously difficult. Not an everyday item.
Shots were taken March 5th last year, a christmas tree that was chosen to be kept for longer.
