Something to warm your hands over... (this cluster of flowers is nearly a foot across!). Shot at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden..

Thanks, Bob. We just happened to walk nearby as this cluster was illuminated by a shaft of sunlight...a few minutes before and a few minutes later, it was in pretty deep shade. The color is so amazing, I saw it from a distance and hurried over to try to capture it in that light.

Just looked that place up after viewing your other post Julie. Put in on our bucket list for when we go back later this year. This is one really beautiful flower. Can't image it being a foot in diameter. Amazing.

Thanks, Susan. Yes, if you're in/near Miami, try to make a visit to this garden. Largest tropical botanic garden in the continental US. Plan on spending most of the day, if you can... it's very large. Take the tram tour for an overview, and then wander as you like! This particular shot was taken from the main path near the cafe and conservatories (butterflies, rare plants and more). I hope you can do it some time!
