Common Buzzard
Lens: Sigma 150-500 OS HSM Camera: K-5 ISO: 200
Posted By: Snipes, 03-06-2013, 11:49 AM

For a few weeks i've been trying to take a picture of a Common Buzzard(Buteo buteo). There are quite a lot here, but they get scared easily when you come too close. Today I finally got some decent pictures, shot out of the car:

Thnx for watching...

Good shot with that Sigma 150-500mm .

Interestingly, I had started a thread on the type of "long" lens I should be looking into, and this lens of yours is one of the "candidates".

This is the lens I use the most. Fore me it was because of budget reasons and the wish for more mm's that I bought the Sigma. I'm very happy with it, and with the right amount of post processing you can make very decent pics with it.

Nice photo, it looks more beautiful than the name suggests. Nothing common about the shot.

Looks like a hawk....

Any of various North American vultures, such as the turkey vulture. 2. Chiefly British A hawk of the genus Buteo, having broad wings and a broad tail.

Ah, our hawks are your buzzards, our buzzards are your vultures.

The bird may be common, but the shots are uncommonly good.
