Obligatory Insect

Not great, I realize, but in my defense, I have no discernible skills, she was a very small spider and was climbing pretty quickly when I started firing at her. Either my DOF was too shallow or more likely, I just didn't quite nail the focus. What I do like about this photo, though is the complete lack of background. My porch is about 4 ft behind where she is suspended and is all white in the part photographed, which gives an illusion that she's nowhere.

I've seen some amazing insect macro shots here and this is not among them, but I thought I'd share anyway, We're getting into spider season, if anyone has any advice for me, I would receive it graciously.

macro spider

Hi there,i just bought an old tamron lens and it also has the ability you are talking about here,to obliterate the background completely,i think you and i will have a lot of fun in the better lighting of a summers day,regards
