Dance Competition 3/9/2013 (12 pics) · **1 Like**

I provided sound for another dance competition this month so had an opportunity to practice my photography.
I used the Q with prime 01 for the group shots and the K-5 with Sigma 70-200 HSM II for the performance shots.
This location had the worst lighting yet, just a few fluorescent tubes here and there in the ceiling.
After some initial experimentation I ran the K-5 in manual at 6400 ISO and kept shutter speed at a slow 1/200 sec with lens aperture at 3.5.
All shots required exposure boost, WB and noise fixes in LR4.

Lots of lovely smiling faces, great job especially with the lighting. You're improving with every session it appears to me. Love those action shots Larry.
