A few more with the FA 50mm Macro

Once again, it's raining in Vancouver...

Even so, I spent some time last night with my new lens, testing it out on a few different subjects.

Here's my guitar. I like the colours in this shot, but I'm not really sold on the composition. Mostly I was just experimenting using two flashes, one bounced off the ceiling and another bounced off of a large blank canvas to the left. I was trying to highlight the f hole on the left hand side.

This is a little iodotropheus sprengerae, raised from an egg in my tank. He's just hanging out in his cave.

For these next two, I stopped in at a local nursery on my way in to work. I was really determined to try some flowers, and I was too impatient to wait around for the sun to come out

Nice shots! I really like the cactus spines....
What make is the guitar? It looks like a Gretsch maybe? Although I never play anymore, I'm a sucker for cool looking guitars.

Thanks Jerry! To be honest I have no idea what kind of guitar it is :S All I know is it sounds awesome. I've had a few of my more guitar brand savvy friends look at it, and I've heard a few different ideas, but there are no identifying markings of any kind that we can find.

That guitar looks awesome! The photos are nice, especially 2 and 3. The yellow cactus is really cool.

Hmmm... no identifying logo probably means a knock off of some sort... but no matter, it looks cool and if it sounds as good as it looks then great!

Exactly And I'm not good enough to need one of those fancy name brand guitars anyway

With all the rain we get here, you'd think I would have been smart enough to get a weather sealed camera, eh?

good series, cool guitar shot, does Eric C sound good playing his fender guitars - yes he does, how would he sound using a cheap brand, I'm guessing pretty much the same.
cheers
