a Mountain of Sandstone

It is a beautiful area though my memory of a motorcycle ride through that area some 30-odd years ago is a bit fuzzy.

Kyle, in the event you ever are near Flagstaff and want to visit Sedona, take the 89A instead of I-17. That will take you through some beautiful country and Oak Creek Canyon where there are many photo ops along the drive. The 89A then goes right into Sedona. Don't take an RV though, too many curves, its steep and not much of a shoulder, but no problem in a car.

89a is what I took. Stopped somewhere near Sedona for pie.

Nice shot - that is indeed a beautiful area and you have captured the red rock very well.

This area of the high desert has beautiful clear sky, not much pollution and the red sandstone really stands out.

Seems that I read there were several westerns made in this area Dave, I miss those old westerns, those were the days.

thank you Lori, Sedona and the area is the second most visited tourist area in Arizona. The small town of 11,000 really gets busy during the season. Put it on your S/W visit list, you will enjoy the view.

awesome Bob, you caught some nice light reflecting of the rockface, is that late-ish afternoon or early morning, I'm guessing afternoon.
