Color or Black and White
Lens: Sigma 50-150 F2.8 Camera: K30

Hello All,

So i decided to make my own softbox using the foam core board. The results of the softbox, i have two versions of my little model. Need to know your thoughts and which version works .

I like the skin tones of the color version.

They both work--but the colour one works better.

Personally, I prefer the color version. Something about it just works better for me, as others have mentioned.

monochrome tends to emphasise texture and the like quite well, this girl is young so her skin is quite smooth and the black and white tends to emphasise areas that aren't particularly flattering. (ie: the black and white at a glance makes her eyebrows seem much darker and thicker than they are in teh colour image)

It also tends to make the shadows appear darker, which doesn't really help this image.


I think the colour one is the much nicer image, although I can't help but think that a bit more light would be nice (it's overall rather dark, hair/clothes/background are all dark tones)

I guess it's just me then, but I prefer the b&w version, but then I'm old, cos I remember colour being invented.

Nope, not just you. I prefer the B&W version as well.

They're both nice photos of a very pretty model Suresh, I just prefer the mood of the B&W.

Wonderful photo. I prefer the B&W myself. Think I would like the color if the color was a little more subtle, not quite as rich.
