Good morning
Posted By: Mallee Boy, 03-17-2013, 05:11 PM

Following on from Dave's lead, welcome to the GOOD MORNING thread.

The idea is simple, just post your SUNRISE shot and a few words about "the where, the how & the why" if you wish.

Its a celebration of each day.

Starting it off is a shot from my archives (as it is 10am here), but will post live shot tomorrow morning. In the meantime....please share your SUNRISE.

Taken on a beach walk one morning. Burleigh Beach. Qld Australia.

Great morning shots from everyone! Nice thread, Grant, for sure. I dimly remember taking some morning shots a few years ago, I'll post one if I get up early enough to have time to find it . . . . . . .

Here's a shot I took with my (now my daughter's) K10D standing on our dock one early morning in late 2008 (what was I thinking? ).

Ooh, sunrises! Love 'em... I don't get to see nearly as many good ones as I did when living in Nebraska, so I'll just have to pull a few from my archives for starters All are K100D shots.

One from Bellevue, NE, looking east over the Missouri River bottomlands. Fall can give days when the water is warm and the air isn't, giving lots of chances for mist (or dense fog...) in the valleys. This one I caught because my wife, driving to work, called me and said I *really* needed to grab my camera and go snap this spectacular sunrise. I think I succeeded

One of many beauts I got to see on my morning drive (56 miles house to office, across the plains and hills of eastern NE).

Almost the same location, but looking southeast vs northeast... I loved the soft, almost pastel colors and the sky that looked like a painting. 1500-foot radio towers for scale

I'll have to see if I can make some time to get new ones. A bit more challenging out here in Washington with an urban commute and going the wrong way, but we'll see...

All good shots Jim....but that first one is mesmerising. I understand totally what your wife meant.
What an awesome sight to behold and beautifully captured to.
Thanks for joining in.
Cheers

There are just too many absolutely gorgeous shots for us mere mortals to compete with on this subject. Not only does one have to get up at an hour that God did not mean to make, one has to be able to use a camera and come up with stunning displays shown here. I bow my head to all you early birds and will snuggle back down into my covers and wait until sunrise comes at 9:00 AM or later.
