I had to get up early to baby sit. while standing on my deck drinking my coffee the sun started to rise. This was taken between two houses across the street with plenty of old trees.

Well Grant, that is a lovely photo and a great thread. I have only a couple of sunrise photos in the last 10 years and I took them at Zion last year. I love retirement and sleeping in for a change. Here's what I have.

Well Grant good to see ya posting again - lovely shot ! I know we all go through funks - for me I had to travel fare far away - Winter has been a bear here and no relief in site ! That said here are couple from my last 'local' sunrise taken on January 5th this year out at Elk Island.

These were taken on July 4th at about 1:30 AM. Never did figure out whether the sun was coming up or going down but I did get out of bed to take them so I'm calling them sunrises.

For my Nthn Hemisphere friends, Good Morning from Queensland. Australia.

I was joined by my model friend, lower right in the first shot, and is actually on the bank between the two dams in the last shot, but hard to see. She follows me along, keeping a considerable distance, but is always hovering, watching.

Dave...yeah, its just that it has been so hot/humid and I have been busy with printing & framing that the camera has largely been ignored. Thanks for changeing that, and yes, there is something a whole heap "sexier" about shooting sunrises in far away places.....isn't there
Susan....hey, doesn't matter, looks like sunrise to me. That must be an amazing place, my daughter is heading up there shortly before joining me & a mate(s?) on a roadtrip around South West USA in May, so no doubt I will hear all about it. She wants to go up there and work next year (ski patroller).
