Witches' Trees
Posted By: Sailor, 03-19-2013, 04:01 PM

Yesterday, I used my fish eye lens for the first time in months (years?), so I decided to take it over to a nearby wildlife refuge/woods to see how I might put this interesting lens to work. I was in a B&W frame of mind, so I decide to explore the depiction of trees as threatening creatures using colorless, pseudo silhouettes (yeah, I know, but I'm retired and have time on my hands ).

Thank you for your encouragement and inspiration!
I'm poor source of inspiration, but it'll be fun to see your stuff. We can compare notes and both learn something.

Well done. A very cool idea. You have managed to capture how trees can lend a sense of foreboding and eeriness to a scene.

Great series of images. They all have that "haunting" look.

I did something similar to this back in the 70s when I lived up in Conroe but they sure didn't turn out, even close, to as good as these.

Well done.

Oh, and I like #3 best as well.

Exceptional work, Jer. Wish I had it in me. Heck, I wish we had trees so I could even try it .

Thanks much, Ed. I appreciate the nice words. I remember the '70s and days of Tri-X, Pan-X et. al. I wouldn't have been able to pull this off then either - I need electronic aids .

Oh, you've got it in you, but you do need trees. Thanks for the very nice words.
