The wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the cruise down from Kirkenes to Bergen just over a year ago, but sadly little time on land and often lack of clear skies limited our aurora viewing. I got a few nice images near Kjolleford and Rorvik, but nothing close to your masterpieces.
I look forward to returning to Norway sometime soon, but we cannot decide if better in summer or winter (for Aurora). Would stop off in the North (Tomso or Lofortens) if we did it again.
Thanks for keeping memories flooding back in my head.
BTW: what is light flare in top left of #3..?
I`m really glad I could give you some of the memories back, and I really appreciate what you write of my images... Thank you so much!
Oh, and it`s the moon. Just a little too bright for approx. 20 seconds shutter speed

Originally posted by Den I imagine early man must have totally freaked out when this kind of phenomenon occurred, not knowing what the heck was happening. Hell, it would freak me out today and I know what it is!!!! Great job of capturing it.
That`s one of the reasons they believed in nature as Gods more than now, I think. Thunder was "Thor", for instance. Wonder what Aurora was seen as...

Hahaha, no you should. It`s worth the trip. Just remember to visit in march and in my part of the country, we have an overflow of Aurora Borealis in the north, and maybe especially in Lofoten/Vesteraalen.

I really, truly appreciate the kind words. And love to share some of the wonders of nature from "my world".

This is something we do not see in Austrslia.
One can see the "Southern light" far down south.
