Echo Lake
Posted By: Mark Castleman, 03-02-2008, 10:30 AM

This was taken the last day that the Mt Evans road was open for the 2006 season. It was very cloudy in Denver but as we went up we passed through the clouds at about 10,000 ft and emerged into bright sunshine. The summit parking lot is at 14,127 feet (an altitude at which the FAA requires a pressurized cabin or supplementary oxygen for pilots) and I had the unusual experience of looking back down on the clouds.

Nice photo, Mark. Hope you got a chance to stop in at the Lodge. My son has been working up there (April - Nov) at Echo Lake Lodge for the past couple years.
