Floating Head . . .
Posted By: Sailor, 03-02-2008, 05:59 PM

. . . . and other marina images from the first weekend in March.

Our marina ran out of "ground" as it began expanding the number of piers/slips and had to add extra restrooms (heads) in a floating building . . . here is a shot of the interior with the FE:

Fisheye sunset:

Where is everybody?

The marina has started a rotational replacement of its original piers/slips (which date back about 20 years) - only one boat has yet to be moved on this one. Reminds me of when we lived in Michigan - you'd see scenes like this at the end (last boat in) and the beginning (first boat in) of each season.

I really like the second one , Jer. Very cool effect . I think I try to get to the San Francisco Bay to get some boat shots if I have the time .

When I saw the title I wasn't expecting these shots from you Jer

Although it reminds me of last years floating assignment, when my friend got to his rental boat he discovered the head on the dock

It appears that the boat owner wanted to service it, but didn't know how.

Druid owns his own boat now, and with a little luck I'll have a ride on it soon.

Oh, I really like the sunset as well.

Thanks, Tran. I've sailed San Francisco Bay - an unbelievably beautiful place (blows like stink all the time, however). I think you could spend a lifetime photographing around the Bay.

Thanks, Stu, for the kind words about the sunset. I sympathize with both your friend and the boat's owner - there are few things more dismal to deal with than a malfunctioning marine toilet (believe me I know).
