Some Owls
Lens: DA*300 Camera: K-5

A few owls from our Key West trip. This were at a refuge in Homosassa Springs, FL.

They look so pensive -- especially the first Barred Owl.

Seeing your last shot made me look up Burrowing Owls -- I didn't realize there were any in the eastern US, but now I see there is a population in south Florida.

Wow, these are very good, Susan. The first one is fantastic. Did you shoot these hand held or do you use some kind of support? The sharpness is outstanding.

Coral Gables has a large colony. Lots of them are located around the library and all are marked with roosting posts made from PVC pipe.

Hand held Jer. I do try to use my tripod but if I am going to be chasing flying birds I just can't manage it.

Very cool - I have one capture of a wild owl and it's no where near as good as these.

Thanks Dave. These are photos of wild owls in captivity so it was a lot easier.
