Winter Jewel Pano
Posted By: little laker, 03-03-2008, 02:25 AM

I made it over to Jewel Lake, British Columbia, Canada again 2 weeks ago or so, and shot this pano.

And I finally had the chance to stitch it together yesterday.

That is impressive. Colour looks just spot on with accurate exposure. Hard to do in such weather condition.

That is a great pano

That's very clever.
50% more pixels in Y just by turning the camera.
Impressive work.

A beautiful image Stu. Great exposure. Whereabouts is Jewel Lake?

Really well done Stu. You're the master at this. The sky looks tough to keep consistent across the frame but you nailed it. Nice view as well.

Thank you Garth,
the 50% more pixels is the least of my concern for the most part. I'm shooting most of my landscapes through a 28mm lens, so this allows me get the height I want.

Thanks Paul,

It's around 70 minutes straight east of Osoyoos, close to Greenwood.
You'll probably make it up there soon enough

I learned everything that I know about panoramic's from 35mmfilm_user, so Marc can take some credit here as well

He actually got me addicted to it

Nice picture. I just posted my first pano yesterday (see sunset at docks) also after trying some earlier attempts and can appreciate now how difficult getting the sky a consistent color can be.

Thanks weatherwise,
As you know I really liked your first pano.
Did I warn you that it's addictive

If you need some advice on the subject feel free to ask. I might be able to help you out

Thanks Kim,
Sorry that I wasn't on-line earlier. My cars starter refused to work. It's a good thing that it happened at a friends house, he helped me get going.
If I can get a re-built one tomorrow I guess that I'll be getting dirty hands
I wish that I could get a new one, the original lasted 16 years, and the re-builds last just past the warranty

Thanks Tom,

I'll be looking at yours in a moment or 2, and give you a comment.

And then I'll try stitching together 2 from the sunset tonight.
I think that it might be a late night
