Portraits in the forest with my new 55
Lens: Pentax-DA* 55mm F1.4 Camera: Pentax K-5 Photo Location: Sweden ISO: 200 Shutter Speed: 1/90s Aperture: F2

A couple of shots of my brother from a forest walk some days ago with my new Pentax Da* 55mm F1.4. I really like the lens! My brother is trying out my Sigma 150-500mm F5-6.3, if you wonder about the lens he's carrying.

Very nice, clean shots. The DA*55 renders so nicely - plus the person behind the lens has a lot to do with it also!

Thanks! Yeah, it got wonderful rendering and I don't think I will feel jealous of Canon shooters with their 50/1.2L anymore, this lens is outstanding too! You brought up the lens and the person behind the lens (thank you) but you forgot about my photogenic brother. We are like opposites in front of the lens with me drawing the short straw.

These are great! I love the bokeh this focal range can produce... Your brother is *very* photogenic but I still think the photographer's artful renderings made the first two portraits outstanding. The last is a really nice candid shot as well. Nice lenses too.

These are very good; I especially like the last one. Do be honest, I didn't even know Pentax made a DA* 55 - looks like it does a very nice job.

Also the road was icy and the snow was deep.

They do and it's a really good one! Especially when you sell your FA 50/1.4 and only have to add 100€ for a used DA* 55/1.4, as I did! I got my DA* 300/4 at the Amazon.co.uk crazy half price sell of it one evening and I almost basically traded my FA 50/1.4 for the DA* 55/1.4. I should get more DA* at awesome prices. :P
