I have followed your work in Afghanastan and love the way you have conveyed it in photos. I agree with Kozlok. A book would be a great way to bring the best of your photos and story together.

You definitely have a book here. Your series has given me a very clear idea of what a tour of duty in Afganistan is like. Thank you for that, and thank you for your service.

Can't find the link?!

Was the content removed? If so for what reason? I found this posting via another website boasting about the photographer, his gear, and his work. But now it looks removed?!

The content has indeed been removed as ordered by my superiors and that is all the information I am capable of divulging at this time.

I apologize for any inconvenience.

Very Respectfully,
Heie

Well, that bites, and hopefully the brass will relent. We certainly appreciate all that you have done.

Heie is there any reason that you can share? From the work I saw there was nothing illegal so why sensor it?

Well, I am so sorry I've missed it.
I'm an admirer of your work, as well as your commentary. With luck, something like this or these exact shots will come back. I'll just have to go on feeling like I've actually missed something from all the great complements you've received.

Hope this all works out for you and there is no lasting recrimination for posting those now removed photos. Damn.

As of right now, I do not feel comfortable sharing anything other than there is an investigation being conducted (which would explain why I cannot discuss anything). It is a long weekend (4-day) in the European Command, so I expect to receive more details next week.

I apologize for my terseness in the matter, however it is a matter of necessity and protocol.

Very Respectfully,
Heie

Here's hoping your not going to get a load of grief over this.

Anyway start concentrating on your most recently positive news, your new plans involving that bride to be.

That stinks. Hopefully just a knee jerk reaction from the PetaPixel posting and any other "coverage" you are receiving. The few pics I did catch are fantastic. As a veteran (Army) I wish I had been more aware and taken photos while I was on active duty in the 90's. Thank you for your pics and the weather sealing vid, recovering from Nikon in just a few more days. (K-IIs).

And a big thank you for your service.
