Claire Hunts Easter Eggs
Lens: DA 55-300 Camera: K-5 Photo Location: Our Yard
Posted By: Sailor, 04-01-2013, 06:35 AM

Yesterday, our 8-year-old granddaughter, Claire, conducted her annual Easter egg hunt in our yard. She's reaching the age at which skepticism regarding the Easter Bunny must be getting close (if not already in place), and I noticed that - for the first time - the hunt had an almost perfunctory feel. Gone were the squeals of delight and wonder, which were replaced with more of a sense of mission and purpose. Time moves on and things chance, so I'm glad I grabbed these shots while she still retains some of the characteristics of a little child.

Probably the last for this little one. The Easter Bunny will go as will Santa. You will be glad you captured these moments.

I think you're right Susan - makes me think of "Fiddler" and "Sunrise, Sunset."

Nope, EM - she tracked them herself. Yesterday we noticed a few in the backyard she missed.

Capn, I sure appreciate the nice words. I trust you're safe and sound back in Saugus?

Probably no longer believes in the Easter Bunny, but definitely still enjoys the hunt. Very nice series.

Thanks, Ivan. The dog, which belongs to my daughter and son-in-law, was more interested in chasing squirrels.
