A little bit of Irish
Posted By: F-Stop, 03-04-2008, 02:13 AM

Considering it's March I figured I'd add to the festive spirit - A can of Guinness and a 4 leaf clover! Wish I didn't give away my 7 leaf though.

11 more days till the Ides of March and my Birthday.

The Guinness was definitely tasteful. As for the 4 leaf clover, that's back in page 95 of a Royal Reader printed in 1906 that my great-grandmother owned.

A really cool (no pun intended) shot. Somethng about the black can, green background and the surprising clover.

Greg - I really like the way you placed your transparent name/logo in the reflection of the can. Very creative!
Cheers

Very nice shot F-stop. Very clean and professional looking.

Im still a firm fan of good old Tennants though, its tasteless, weak and cheap but its Scottish, and when im not in Scotland I always crave one!

Thanks everyone for the comments!

To answer a few questions, I don't think it was Extra Cold daacon, sorry, perhaps next time although I've never had a Guinness 'Ice Cold' before. I'll be honest I don't notice much difference in the can or on tap, at least not here in NL - the can just worked as a prop "Made in Ireland" added to the theme.

As for the logo, I usually watermark my photos with what I have there so thanks tlfaust for noticing, I was hesitant about moving it to the other side but thought it would throw off the balance plus it blended with the reflection which I thought was cool.

To explain the rest of the photo, it was taken on my glass topped desk; the background was actually the only green wall of my bedroom and the shadows from the 5 adjustable halogen ceiling lighting track. The white reflection in the side of the can was from a 3 light floor lamp - I guess I didn't need it on but oh well.

thomasjmpark, never had or even heard of Tennants until now. I wouldn't mind tasting it but alas you can't get that here either.

I forgot about this one in the freezer but it made for a great shot - tasted good also.

To end off I figured I'd gather everyone together to have a family portrait...

Enjoy!

Great series of shots. The first is well shot and set up. Like the family portrait as well. Nicely done and great light. Frozen beer? Sacrilege!!! Not hard to tell you're from 'The Rock'
