Lets see your early spring photos!
Posted By: dws1117, 03-04-2008, 11:29 AM

Spring is springing here is south east Texas, USA! Today is sunny, very windy and a pleasant 59 degrees. Here are some pictures of the cottonwood tree in my back yard.

An one of a flower in my neighbors yard.

Now I'd like to see your early spring shots.

Monster? That's a hummingbird moth.

I like the last shot of the little field covered in bluebonnets and Indian paintbrush.

Rosemary it's true, it's funny to see pics from dws1117 (at least a month ahead of us here in NC) side by side with a foot of snow. What lens do you use to photograph flowers? I have the 18-55 (got the new Pentax in January) but I know I'll need to add more lenses in the future.

Not sure how early you could call these. But they were the first spring flowers I shot on a trip to the desert taken March 9, 2008.

Wow some really nice shot posted while I've been away in New Mexico. Glad to see that spring is finally arriving in the cooler climates. I'm looking forward to seeing more shot from the north.

Here is a shot taken with my new K200d and the new kit lens. This is in my neighbors yard. Does any one know what this flower is?

It looks like a hibiscus to me. Nice shot BTW. It looks like you will have fun with that new camera and lens. Looks sharp!

Fred is right, that's a hibiscus. A Chinese hibiscus, H. rosa-sinensis. It looks like you're going to have fun with your new camera!
