Lets see your early spring photos!
Posted By: dws1117, 03-04-2008, 11:29 AM

Spring is springing here is south east Texas, USA! Today is sunny, very windy and a pleasant 59 degrees. Here are some pictures of the cottonwood tree in my back yard.

An one of a flower in my neighbors yard.

Now I'd like to see your early spring shots.

The iris is an old one, or a throwback. Sorry but I cannot give you a name. Iris are notoriously difficult to match with a name, as so many different ones have been introduced every year for the past 75 years.
It would seem that this one is a Blue Flag Iris.

I have Iris versicolor and it doesn't look like the iris you photographed. There is some variation in color among I. versicolor but yours looks like an old bearded iris to me. Do you have a wider view?

What a wonderful array of pics posted so far.

It's Autumn in Oz at the moment, although it feels more like winter, geeze it's cold.
Anyway, i took a few flower shots the other day, i'll just post one for now.

Terrific shots as always! Keep on posting. You must have an awesome garden. It also probably take a lot of work.

BTW I think your correct about the bearded iris. The more I looked at my shots as compared to other examples of the Blue Flag Iris it appears not to be the same.

Rosemary - great shots. Sorry so late in commenting. Work has been hectic lately.

Thank you Wayne. The garden is a good bit of work but I love it.
