Posted By: Bob Harris, 04-10-2013, 02:56 PM

Living in the desert these are quite common sights, but many haven't visited, so i thought you might find the plantlife interesting to view

Interesting series Bob, you show us things that otherwise we'd never see. Thanks for posting them.

I think anything in bloom in the desert is beautiful and it doesn't last long so you have to enjoy it while you can.

Something you might also see in the Mojave Desert... my house! The Mojave you captured looks far more beautiful than the Mojave I can see out my back window. :-)

Nice ones Bob. I'm also a big fan of the desert but haven't been for many months. But we'll be driving to Coeur D'Alene in May and plan to cut through the middle of Nevada.

Thanks for posting, I find these sort of images really interesting as it's certainly not something I get to see very often.

Our local botanical garden has a "desert" patch, maintained with some effort during our rainy season, lots of interesting cacti and succulents... but nothing beats seeing these amazing plants in their natural environment! TFS, Bob!

I keep looking at these over and over and imagining the kind of macros I would like to take. I thoroughly enjoyed your series Bob...some of these are almost abstract. 4, 5 and 7 most intriguing, but 4 with the the piles of rocks and small sign has my curiosity piqued. Is there a story there?

I really dig the alien look of the first landscape - very cool, bud. These plants look pretty aggressive - I'd have to wear a suit of armor were I to walk among them (you'll recall, they have it in for me).

Enjoyed the trip. Is #4 some sort of grave yard? I understand there is quite a phenomenon of Joshua trees blooming all over the Southwest this year at the same time. The "experts" don't know why for sure.
