Salida Colorado Pano.
Posted By: jbrowning, 03-05-2008, 08:10 PM

I was in Salida over the weekend watching my son play basketball and took this panoramic on Saturday afternoon. This has 31 photos pieced together. I'm still working on getting rid of the warping on this photo. This was taken with my K100d and vivitar 24mm.

Enjoy

Jim

nice shot..

This is a nice shot Jim..

Although I would of liked to see more of the mountains and less of the road.. I think that would help with the "warping" problem as well???

But good shot and great stitch job... Thanks for sharin.. Kim

Thanks Kim, yeah I should have went to the other side of the road and maybe use a stonger mm lens like a 50 or 100mm to get more mountains. But I wanted to get the Stu look with the 24mm lens.

Thanks
Jim

The good part is you should be able to crop the road out maybe?? and still have plenty of room?? Its still a nice pic.. I know first hand those Colorado mountains are beautiful!!!!

Great pano Jim Its difficult to shoot panos with a foreground so close, if you can then I would try it again across the road. The mountains look spectacular.

Great Pano, but I agree that it would have been better to be the other side of the road.

Thanks everyone. I will see what it looks like if I crop the fence and road out. I might just have to take another drive to Salida in the near future. The spring colors should start poping up soon.

Thanks
Jim

Great shot. Wow 31 pictures? How much did you overlap to make it take 31 shots? I like the sky a lot.

Here is the pano with the road cropped out. I think it came out looking pretty good.

Thanks Travis I normally overlap them by half to 3/4 is of the image in the viewfinder. To me the colors come out looking better. But that might just be me.

Thanks
Jim

better.

Jim,

Nice job cropping out the road... it does look better without it... but the mountains should take over the picture and they dont IMO... ..

It is a good capture and it is better without the road!!!
