2 more landscapes from yesterday. Nautical theme
Posted By: little laker, 03-05-2008, 11:19 PM

While I was in Penticton, British Columbia yesterday shortly before sunset I stopped in at a local park and photographed these 2 old boats.

This Tug is slated to be restored sometime. If I can find out whom's getting the job I should try talking them into allowing me to do their photo work. Even though it's around an hour drive from my place

And this was known as the nicest paddlewheeler on the Okanagan Lake at one time.

There's a good chance that I'll have some photo's of the inside sometime this year.

You caught nice lighting on the boats Stu. We end up in Penticton quite a lot during our trips to the Okanagan. The Sicamous is a well known landmark for us.

The first shot is my favorite. The boat has the texture that caught my attention.

Nice couple of shots - must of been strange to see a tug in the lake - repairs makes sense. I love the paddle boat , visions of a a simplier time.

My favorite is the tug boat. It would be great if you could be the one to take pictures of the restoration.

I also like the Tug shot the best. And it doesn't look like that stern paddle wheeler is going anywhere soon.

boats..

Nice shots Stu..

The first one you caught the rust well on that ol'thing.. along with the reflection is very nice.. infact.. (you know me).. it would be really cool cropped just the boat and the reflection , then framed in an old wood frame with some old fish netting or rope.. Very nostaligic..

That steamboat is pretty neat too.. I can't wait to see the pics of the inside that you might be able to get.. Do they ever take it out anymore???

Thanks for sharing.. Great pics as always.. Kim
