One of the sculptures at the Dandry Gorge within the Pilliga State Forest, North West New South Wales. There are a series of sculptures along the top of the gorge representing various parts of the Aboriginal heritage of the area. This is one of stone axes. I have included the information board for reference.

Fascinating and a great photo - at first glance, I thought of "Planet of the Apes", but after studying the photo . . . . I don't know why. I guess I'm getting punchy in my old age. Anyway - super pic.

Thanks Jer. The main photo is a three shot HDR. due to the dark and light subject. Also I had the polarising filter on, love that filter.

So interesting to view the tools used Trev, I was thinking it was primitive but after reading and thinking about it I think they were ahead of their time. Those polarizer filters are quite handy on a bright day, great shot here and thanks for the added info.

Thanks Bob. It is a very interesting place and the location appears odd, but it is a real draw card to a beautiful bush location.

Looks a great day for photography, just look at that photographers gift of a sky, well captured.

Our standing stones here are a little older and not quite so polished.
