Excellent Tim we have a few of those fellows here as well (much to my surprise) albeit they are not here yet. Good BIF , these beasts are pretty graceful and a huge wingspan.

What cool shot of a cool-looking bird. Very nice to see! I bet that was a hard shot to get. I cannot imagine panning with the Bigma. Thank you for sharing

Kind of partial to a pelican myself, often found in strange places.

They've even got them in the old town at Mykonos in Greece. Just walked around the corner of an old cobbled, white washed street and there it was, gave the missus a turn, I can tell you.

Hey Tim - that's one cool picture. Our pelicans are the regular gray kind - we don't see white ones often. Nice catch, my friend.

Nicely captured BIF. Is that a breeding horn thing on his bill? He is a beauty.

Bob they stop by here from time to time. I guess they are on the way somewhere. Thanks for looking.

Thanks Dave. This is the first spring I have seen pelicans in Colorado. But it is also the first year I have been actively seeking birds.

Great shot, Tim! What's that thing on his beak? Some kind of stabilizer?

Panning with a monopod with the bigma is very much a learning process for me and I do get lucky once in a while.

Thanks for looking Susan. That is my understanding about the horn thingy, it falls off after mating season I am told.

Thanks Gary. I have heard it is a mating season thing, maybe makes them more desirable to the other sex. I guess it is like today's kids with orange spike hair...
