As far as the eye can see....
Lens: DA 18-135mm WR Camera: K-30 Photo Location: Washington DC

These were taken on a recent trip to Washington D.C.
Arlington National Cemetery is a military cemetery that was established during the Civil War.
Here's a link: www.arlingtoncemetery.mil/
It is a place of both reverence and beauty. The sheer scope and size of this sacred place is enough to fill one with awe.
I hope you enjoy.

Excellent images. Somber and sobering. Interesting bit of history: Arlington was R. E. Lee's home (estate) before the Civil War. It was "appropriated" by (I think) General Meigs, the U.S. Army Quartermaster General.

Thanks. Yes, R.E Lee's home is still there, and is being renovated.

Your first image really shows the scale of the place, just so many stones.

Thanks Dave. I tried hard to capture the "sense of place". It was a very moving experience for me, just being there.

Good that you have been there. Photos really don't do it justice. We have been there several times as well, and each time it has had a lasting impact on me.

Thanks for the nice comments,Jer. It is indeed a remarkable place. Luckily we live only about 3 hours away, so we get to visit several times a year.
