That is so "cool" Norm. The water flowing underneath adds a lovely element to the whole thing.

Wow Norm, these are striking photos of the flooding. I was just watching about this on the local news and weather. Hope you guys make out okay!

We are at least 100 feet above the river so, I don't think it would be possible for it to flood us out, although the water coming off the ridge behind us is doing it's best... the worst that would happen would be the road in front of our driveway would be flooded, so we might not be able to get to town for a few days. But we often spend days without going ot town, so I'm not sure we'd notice.

This guy across the river from us, has a truck parked on each side of the bay, which used to be a road, and canoes back and forth between them. He's gone right now, but that's his canoe waiting for him to return and his other truck on the other side.

Well thanks for the concern fotogapher, so far, it's just been a bit of excitement, something Whitney isn't exactly famous for.

The whole story is over here.

roaring water and freezing temps makes for a great photo Norm. Getting too close could be a life ending mistake it appears with that water running so fast and cold. Stay inside until the snow melts.

Stay inside Bob? I'd freeze, we heat with wood. I have to go outside to get wood for the stove, and it's going down to -7 tonight (you're probably asking yourself "what the heck kind of spring is that". and so are we)... but thanks for the concern.

An amazing shot, that's the sort of things you see made of plastic or resin that hang on indoor Christmas trees.

Not like a real thing, out there in the wild.

I was kind of shocked when I first saw them. You don't really expect to see something new, walking beside the river for years and looking at the same things you always look at. I guess you just never know.

I don't know how much misery this sort of deluge causes you guys, but boy did it make for an unusual and interesting photo. Nice job, Norm.
