The Wife
Lens: 18-55 wr Camera: k-5 Photo Location: Winery

Here is a picture of my wife that I took at a winery last weekend. Thoughts?

It's an engaging expression. Candid photos are great for capturing the moment and its hard to control factors like the background, which can affect the photo's aesthetics. Here, the person beside your wife is a slight distraction. A background like the winery vineyards would have worked better and given the portrait a little more context. Otherwise it's a good capture of the moment.

I see what you mean about the background. Thanks for the advice.

It might not work here but I once 'rescued' a nice picture of my wife and daughter from a 'too busy' background by turning it into a high key image with Photoshop.
