Some shots of Coots fighting

Full set here on Flickr

I'd be very grateful of any feed back good or bad, very new to all this, just feeling my way with what I think looks good or not rather than getting super technical.

Technically there are pretty good indeed - nice action shots. Thumbnails are a little small here - may be a heavy crop ?

Much improved with PP compared to the earlier post. Particularly with RAW capture, it is quite amazing what can be pulled out of what initially looks like a poorly exposed image. Quite a lot can be done with JPEGs as well, but eventually you run up against the the limit of the amount of information that has been thrown away in the JPEG file compression process, whereas the comparable RAW file still has headroom to play with.

And yes, there is a learning curve with PP, but the improvement in images is worth the investment.

It's possible that the coots' black plumage was the source of the original over-exposure. If the camera was metering off the birds, it would have tried to exposure the image such that the black was recorded as a mid-grey.
