It was a dry year and the cacti are slow to open this year and not as many blooms as in the past. Here are a few of the newly opened and blooms that have not opened yet. It is amazing these plants can survive on 2 inches of rain during the year and still are able to bloom with such beauty.

It's the colors that grab me. Out of the desert comes such deep rich royal colors. TFS these Bob.

Susan, you're right about the colors, to look at these during the middle of the summer you would think they are almost dead and then give it all they can give during the spring. Nature is wonderful.
