Yep, I'm seeing them this time.

This image is not what I was expecting, for me poppies are always red.

So I really like the first image colours and the fact that there's so many there, well seen and taken.

Hmmm..;. someone painted these poppies in yellow But beautiful they are! (Are the two images a bit underexposed? The appear to be so on my uncalibrated laptop screen.)

Glad to see your poppies finally popped. Would love to see that many in full bloom. TFS.

Thanks kerrodown. We have the red varieties you're thinking of here, but you don't see many of them growing wild - usually they're ornamental. These orange ones are called the California Poppy, and are our state flower. In some years you can see whole hillsides covered with these blooms, but this year we have a fairly weak crop.

Thanks Stefan. Actually they usually have a more orange look to them, although in places you can find some with a more yellowish tint.

This image is underexposed by a half stop, which I did to saturate the colors a little more. At the "correct exposure" some of the yellows were blown out.

Thanks Susan! You would be truly impressed by a bumper crop bloom - this year is a little weak.

Thanks for the background info, I learn something every day, but that'll be it now for today, because I can't remember more.
