No I didn't use any special equipment.
Here's my setup:
1. fill a plastic bag with water
2. hang it about 60cm above a big bowl of water
3. poke the plastic bag of water with safety pin to have continuos drops of water.
4. position a remote flash about 45 degree to the wall, manual mode, flash power 1/16, ISO 100
5. paste color cloth on the wall for the color of water
6. keep triggering the shutter at different interval to get many shots of water drop.
7. change the cloth to other colors and repeat (6) and (7)
