Hi, I do not mean to sound like a I-know-everything guy. The thing is I have been reading a lot lately and when I saw this picture some questions came to my mind:

First thing, the river gets more than a third of the frame (due to the low point and a bit of camera tilt?) but there is not much to see there. The big rock on the right caught my attention the most so I thought it was a "game" between it and the "other big rock" behind the trees?
I think I would cut the first two rocks on the right to tighten the composition a bit. From the trapezoidal? (ha!) rock on the right you can zig-zag your way to the mountain ( jump to the rock on the left, then the trees from left to right and finally climb the mountain. With the eyes i mean!

Last two things: Perhaps a polarizer would have helped to enhance the green on the trees? Also, I think the branches on the upper right are distracting but those would be difficult to leave out of the frame.

Sorry if I am out of line this is the first time I write to "critique" a photo but this one caught my attention. Lots of elements put together. Thanks for sharing.

Great image of Ansel Adams countryside.

Have you tried any b&w conversions of your images, from that area?

@tessfully - Thanks so much for looking and your kind comments!

@slowpez - Thanks for commenting!

@kerrowdown - Thanks. Yes, I have tried a few B&W conversions. The area is so beautiful in colour though, with the hues in the rock balanced against the sky, trees and water that I always come back to the colour versions! You can drive yourself crazy sometimes manipulating your images can't you?!
