What a great series to view and I bet fun to attend. I worked for ATSF for 3 years back in the 60's in Barstow when it was a hub, now most everything is down in San Bernardino I guess. We would have a few steamers come in and what a great locomotive they were to view and hear.

Interesting set of images.

The fourth one has a real big boy toy, a remote control train and it's full size!!!

My remote just does the TV.

I recall Barstow still has a big yard, though I don't know how active it is. I will be staying there next Friday after visiting Calico and puttering around.

That particular loco is a "switcher", used to move cars around a yard.
