Night Lightning from tonight

I had the K-01 sitting in the windowsill in interval shooting. It was interesting, and now I know what to do next time. Here's the only one with a bolt in it out of the 350 I had it take. The settings were actually f/9.0 and the shutter speed 2.5 seconds, but that wasn't an option.

One success in 350 frames? Sounds like my shooting average. Or maybe better.
Interesting - so how will you handle it next time.

Lucky catch!
For lightning (which is rare here) I have used continuous 30 second exposures at lowest ISO and midrange f stop for sharpest results from the lens in use.
If I am lucky I will catch a bolt during one of the 30 sec time periods.
Opportunities usually only come up when I travel though.

I learned that next time I will do longer exposures, with a wider lens, and tipped up more because that's a crop from the top of the frame. I should also face it out a different window, because I got loads where my yard was lit up, but no lightning.
