Hot girl with k20d
Posted By: roentarre, 03-07-2008, 11:58 PM

A quick round of shoots with Fa 43 ltd today. K20d is striking with details and colour. No more yellow cast and much better dynamic range comparing to k10d. It is in deed a sweet camera!

Francisca is also a fan of pentax camera too. Then I had to leave canon gear to one side to please her ...

She is very pretty. Too pretty! I wouldn't be able to think and ask her what to pose next.

Well done James - I have decided to quit my day job and be your lighting boy, Sherpa, side kick, whatever it takes to closer to a 3d image of those you posted. I may be looking at a K20D - will wait a bit , told myself I would not get caught in the upgrade path , I may have lied. Excellent series.

Decent series. Nice subject (much better than the other females I see posted here regularly). Other than the overcasty day you've done wonderfully.

I'll keep in mind that posting such words as "HOT," "girl," "female" make threads that much more popular around here...

love the first and last shots..

I'll come along next time for her ;-)

P.S. I think the overcast day helped, as it really isolates her even more.. Let alone the soft natural lighting..

Besides it being a very pretty girl these are good photographs, thanks for posting them.
In the last one I would clone out the two light poles.

Nice shots of a beautiful woman.
Did I say WOW?

Thank you!

Hey!

I thought the hot girl would be holding a K20d!!! The title does say "Hot girl WITH K20d"!

Nice pics, crazy sharp!

Pat
In fact, my fa 31 ltd backfocuses on k20d. I had to do some minor af adjustment. k20d really is a nice camera

She got a very good accent that really adds to the time of shooting. At one stage, her G string was blown to one side with the gale.

Just awesome!
Great combo, lenses and body - a pleasure to see.
But not any happy snapper can create those images even with the gear you had - your skill just brings the subject to life!
It was just a beautiful girl with a great camera. No matter who the photographer is, the image would turn out the same. I can see the skin tone is definitely rendered better than k10d

When I saw Ash's comment on "Great combo, lenses and body" I kinda got stuck on the last word. She's beyond hot. Well shot images though, great IQ. Saving my nickels for a new camera as well. Like the entire series. The 3rd is a great shot and very good use of the light and colours.
Thanks to your post on 31mm. I decided to use it a lot more often. It seems that my use of lenses really depends on the hot topic of the month in the SLR lens section.

This is the interesting bit in human psychology - satisfying the curiosity.

It makes my whole day really worth while. Good fun.

James - great photos, making this new camera proud!

3rd one - absolutely terrific, very stylish and magazine spread worthy imo, grayish, muted surroundings contrasted by the bold colors, style and beauty - nice work!!!

Regards,
D
Thanks, D.

With k10d, I still love to play around with colour adjustments. K20d really did the job for me the way it is. I think JPEGS are just so usable that there is no need to use Raw. A great bonus for me since Raw conversion really takes time. I got about 40 Gig of RAW shots still unprocessed...

Great images. Like #3 most, gallery quality.

Roentarre, I also like your blog a lot. Seems your friends are really enjoying being photographed by you. Lucky guy
Greatly appreciated. Darren Melrose from DPR told me to really get myself busy with projects or themes to shoot. Having a couple of public photo blogs will get you going.

Initially I was obsessed with how to increase traffic. But now, it is just do your work and post in there. Over time, it would look impressive. A nice exercise to keep the hobby going for a long long time

Great job James, every shot is strong and this is a great series.
Thanks, Chris. Lighting is hard outdoor and I would have to read up more about adequate artistic lighting outdoor again. I read your post regarding your lighting set up. I could not really get the effect you are creating. I guess I would have to look into some studio locally to learn more from these pros.

Great work for sure. I like them all but the last one would be the best if not for the light poll above her head. Lose that it is easily the winner for me. Nice work.
Pat, nice to see you again. I can see that the light pole being distracting and I did try to eliminate that in another version. But something seems to be missing after removing it. It might create a background that creates a contrast with the rails on the side in a converging pattern.

Your humour is always fun in this forum. I think the weather sealing is incapable of stopping my hormone thunderstorm...

She is a make up artist and she knows better than I do to post... A great thing to learn from the model in fact. I love people interaction in this style

Your approval gets me going My work has been too hectic and I actually worked on Saturday morning til early afternoon. So a short one hour fun with k20d was well worth it.

She insisted to put on her favorite socks. I saw that being quite funky
