Deep Creek, Smoky Mtns
Posted By: slowpez, 04-29-2013, 07:19 AM

On the single day we have had without rain since we arrived here, we managed a short hike to see a couple of waterfalls and hunt for wildflowers. The new lens is turning out to be a good one for walking about.

Glad you found the rare rainless day - our region's Springtime tends to be wet (that's why it's so green!)
Then again, the K5 is weatherproof...
Wonderful lighting on the 2nd waterfall, very nice color on the Wild Geranium, and perfect DOF on the unfurling Christmas Fern!
Thanks for the kind comments mole. You are right about the rain but, evidently, this was unusual even for this area. Can't remember when it poured so hard you couldn't see past where the truck was parked. It has lifted now with only scattered showers in the forecast so our spring wildflower tour should improve.

I really loved this series Susan. The water falls are gorgeous but the 4th, the purple flowers, are stunning.

Thank you Tess. Appreciate the very nice comments. I think the purple flowers are Phlox and they can be pretty prolific in the mountains here.
